23072008.jpg Just got the E71 to play with. Hence I shall put my M1 Data Card in there and use it mainly for Exchange Mail, while my normal SIM card will stay in my 6210 Navigator. The E71 built rocks, it’s stainless steel and it feels a million dollars! (Not that I will buy it if it does costs a million dollars :P)Let me run Mail4Exchange and check out the battery life…

Just received the Nokia 6210 Navigator to test, it looks pretty good, and feels sturdy and “metallic” (though it’s all plastic). From the name and looks of it, it would seems that the USP for this phone is the Navigation features, which I will test it out, after I register the 6 months navigation license that [...]

I’ve got many calls “cut-off” and friends complaining about the bad reception while I was on the N78. I didn’t have such complains when I was using the E90. Not too sure what could be causing it, but it’s happening quite frequently.Would have to return the N78 soon, it isn’t a bad phone but there’s just [...]

It was a strange feature, then again, it’s not really weird why Nokia put a FM Transmitter into the phone. There was a time when the headunit in my car didn’t come with an AUX port. Hence, I used to buy FM Transmitter to listen to my 192Kb birate MP3… at FM Stereo quality :PJust for [...]

Going to have a meeting soon, work is pretty hectic, think I have neglected my blog, hehe.

Was playing around on YouTube.com on my E90 v200 firmware. (Webkit + flashlite3!). Realised that while playback of flash based videos are generally fine and smooth (on 512Kbps HSDPA), the browser is at times quite unresponsive.
But hey, that’s better than seeing a Javascript not supported error page. Also tried to load in a few Web [...]

There’s no iTunes store in Singapore, however, there are many other music stores online like Soundbuzz & the likes. Not many has hit the popularity like the Apple one though.

The Nokia N810 Linux-based internet tablet has a wifi built-in, runs off Maemo Linux and has a GPS built-in. With a qwerty keyboard for input and touchscreen, it sounds like a dream device until I found out it doesn’t have a 3G/3.5G built-in.
Why did Nokia leave this option out is definitely a business decision (me [...]

Just bought the HTC Shift a while back, it’s quite an amazing device despite the fact “Voice-Dialing” is not enabled (until a hack comes along :P). The device I’ve mentioned above are basically devices I own, or have used for a while and that they belong to the “same” genre, your mileage may vary.

If you have a GPS-enabled device, this blue dot corresponds to your GPS location. At times, or if you do not have a GPS-enabled phone, you might see the blue dot surrounded by a light blue circle (as shown on the right) to indicate uncertainty about your location.

What is Dynamic Voltage & Frequency Scaling (DVFS)?
From what we learn in school (a very long time ago :P), DVFS in computer architecture, is a technique to conserve battery/energy/power, utilising the processor at a slower/lower clockspeed or frequency. (Think Underclocking)
DVFS under-performs & underclocks itself by cutting back the number of instructions a processor can process [...]

Encoding videos seems to be a chore for a screen like the E90 Communicator. The screen is 800 x 352 which roughly translates to 16:5 which is of a weird aspect ratio.
