Eunice's Blog
My mom was nagging at me recently that I’ve been working too much and told me that I should go out soon. Indeed, staying up to work till 7am everyday or not sleeping at all isn’t something healthy or normal. Sometimes you just have no choice but to do it when certain deadlines and work fall during the same period of time.
Alas, I have to go out to have fun. For all the overdue meetings with my good friends, events that I’ve missed, movies, concerts, and what’s not, my social life should not just revolve around msn, talking in-games or Facebook that I’m barely addicted to. That’s not even a real social life.
I did not sleep on Sunday night and continued the next morning as I had an assignment. With only a brief nap in the afternoon after that, I was aching all over and feeling really tired to go out in the evening. A split second of decision would make me decide not to go out or not.
Then I heard my mom’s reminder in my head. Lol.
It’s like a sign that I must heed.
I was pleasantly surprised that the event was way better than I’ve imagined because I didn’t “feel the hype” through the media invite - Nokia Connection 2008 - either that, or I’ve became a dull person after all work and no play.
Inside the dome was extremely well air-conditioned. Filled with media people, designated areas that were nicely-designed for different phones and products, generous amount of food and drinks for everyone and not forgetting that in every event, there are always models.
These were some of the friendlier models. I like them. : )
Well, there are some other models that looked extremely bored. While modelling jobs can be very very tiring, I thought some of their attitude wasn’t good at all. E.g. when I smiled and thanked them for posing, they gave no response but a cold and empty stare. Tsk tsk.
Kudos to good models of the night though! There were more! I just didn’t get to photograph everyone. : )
Here are some of the cute mobile gaming stations.
There were some performances to keep the guests well-entertained.
Nokia Music - Independent Artists Club presents…
PeepShow. It was my first time hearing their music and I quite like this local rock band. Their live performance was pretty awesome.
There I was in the crowd, enjoying myself.
Many latest phones were featured and E66 & N71 were announced.
I particularly dig E71. Purrrr.
My good buddy, Damian from CNET Asia showed me his E71 phone that he is currently using.
I have to admit that I’m easily won over by good design. Only when I’m bothered to look at it, then I’ll find out its tech specifications and features. I want something that looks good and suits my needs. So since my second line is using an old Nokia phone of mine, maybe N71 is a good choice to replace it as my work line. I’m still looking for a QWERTY phone.
Here’s my dearest boyfriend, Leon, who is my trustworthy personal assistant at the same time. I won’t look so pretty in my pictures without him behind the camera, taking my criticisms and directions to get the pictures I want.
I only have to resize or crop pix for blog.
Amongst all the food, he enjoyed the mini burgers most. It looked really cute and delicious, but I have limited choices. The waitresses and waiters were really friendly and hardworking; but I could only turn them down with a smile when they offer me something that was difficult for me to eat. Well, it’s not that I don’t like eating but some food is just gonna be a mess for me. I might have to talk sometimes, and I can’t be running to and forth to brush my teeth all the time. Sigh! The woes of wearing braces continue…
I was thankful that they had sashimi. Sashimi is good because it does not stuck in between my braces as easy as normal food does.
Glad that my mom’s advice works!
