My Likes & Dislikes for N96
AHH HAA! I got my hands on N96 recently and good news to people like my younger brother, who enjoys listening to music on the go, N96 is one of the few Nokia devices that is going to have “Come with Music”. If you haven’t heard of “Come with Music”, go check out my features articles.
So anyways, here is what I like about N96:
- Kickass speakers
- 8GB/16GB internal memory + external memory slot
- Great phone camera
Speakers: Well, those loud speakers can definitely be abused by inconsiderate users in the public. But it’s also excellent for us to watch TV shows, videos and listen to music like it is played on non-mobile phone speakers. I must say that after trying it on my own, N96’s speakers are really powerful and clear.
Memory: While it is getting more common for mobile devices to have increasingly big memory but having an external memory slot is a great bonus for anyone who wishes to increase its original capacity.
Camera: With a 5 megapixel, auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, N96’s camera never disappoints. But the thing that caught my attention is its secondary camera which is so much smoother and sharper compared to N95. It’s impressive.
Great for video calls and self portraits.
Now for my dislikes:
- Clumsy keypad
- Bulky size
- Not so sleek design
Keypad: Although it looks rather similar to N78’s keypad, which is quite nice to press on imo, N96’s keypad is a pain to press on. Maybe it takes awhile to get use to this, but I still think that the button design has a room for improvement.
Bulky size: I like the dual slider. However, the entire size of the mobile device is too thick for my liking. We already have great phones like the previous N95, so perhaps it is time for a slimmer version. It is surprisingly light though!
Design:
Not sleek enough. I don’t believe that powerful devices should be deprived from impressive product design.
