Nokia’s Flickr Moments

Imagine this: Sharing a holiday photo in real time, while you’re overseas, for your loved ones to view back home. With the arrival of the upcoming Nokia N82 that promises superb imaging quality, it’s without a doubt that photo hosting services on have to pick up its pace in providing a viable portal for photo sharing opportunities through a mobile portal. And thus, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find an online sharing solution right on your Nokia device, supported by Flickr, an online photo sharing solution.

First up, let’s look at what Flickr offers on your Nokia mobile device. In current models such as the Nokia N82, you’ll find the option to post your photos onto your site with the click of a button. With direct Wi-Fi access, and a few quick steps, it’s just a matter of choosing your favorite photo, sending it to Flickr and viola, instant image uploading, at the tip of your fingers.To achieve this, all it takes is a few simple steps to initialize a connection between your Nokia mobile device with Flickr. First up, choose a photo, click on Options and select Open Online Services. The next step requires you to input your Flickr account and password.

To start this off, head on over to www.flickr.com and sign up for an account, and if you have an existing Yahoo account, that user ID can be utilized for Flickr uploading too. Following which, it’s time to upload your photos right from your mobile device onto Flickr. You’ll be prompted to retrieve online services, which you should select Yes, as illustrated here.

This will bring you to the main Flickr page, and you’ll notice it is now logged into your personal account. So, all you’ll need to do, is choose Upload Photo, as illustrated here:

What follows is a series of steps to choose the photos that you wish to upload, either from the device’s onboard memory, or its external memory card.

With that done, it’s now a matter of waiting for the upload to be completed before you start off on the next photo to be uploaded onto Flickr. Once uploaded, you can send the Flickr links to your friends and family for sharing.
