The Game is On!

Metal Gear Solid Mobile
When it comes to porting a great console game to the mobile platform, there are only a few publishers around who managed to do it as impressively as the publishers of Metal Gear Solid Mobile. Designed for the mobile phone in mind with state of the art full 3D rendered graphics, this new adventure continues to capture the essence of the MGS experience and staying true to its core gameplay of sneaking, shooting and challenging villains.

In Metal Gear Solid Mobile, the story takes place between Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 where Snake infiltrates a new facility to stop Revolver Ocelot’s Metal Gear black market operation. Understandably, its story is not as drawn out as its console counterparts but it is definitely pocketsize fun for any MGS fans or mobile gamers to enjoy the experience.

If you’ve played the console version, you’ll find that the controls are rather similar on its mobile counterpart too - the D-pad is used for movement and select button for various actions.
Personally, I’m also fascinated with the unique implementation of the camouflage system from Metal Gear Solid 3 where you can actually use your phone camera to take picture of anything in the real world and use those as colour samples to change the color of your sneaking suit – pretty nifty!
Along side with Boom Blox and Resident Evil: Degeneration, Metal Gear Solid Mobile is also one of the most notable and latest games that you can play on N-Gage. Till today, it remains as my top 3 favorite mobile games of all times.
One & N-Gage Arena
Another game that I enjoy playing on the go is One. This fighting game is jam packed with a lot of character customization and tweaking options to keep myself busy. And when I’m bored playing with the AI, I could make use of its Bluetooth and N-Gage support to pit my fighter against a friend or anyone in the world for a few rounds of punching and kicking.

Every victory and loss will dictate your character’s ranking and the best way to watch your ranking soar is to beat a more experienced opponent who has a higher ranking than you. Similarly, losing a match to a weaker fighter who had barely fought before, will affect your ranking drastically.
More Games on N-Gage Arena
If fighting games aren’t your cup of tea, try Reset Generation (Puzzle), Mile High Pinball (Pinball) and Snakes Subsonic (Puzzle). These games offer single player mode as well as multiplayer mode on N-Gage Arena, and they are great for all kinds of mobile gamers or users. At least you can’t go wrong with Snakes Subsonic.

Reset Generation celebrates all things bright and colorful in videogames. It’s a videogame about video games where heroes and “saving your princess” runs the core of this storyline. You can choose from 10 legendary heroes ranging from Hedgehog to Level 50 Elf. To be honest, this fast-paced puzzle game is pretty addictive! With an average of 10 minutes play session, this one-thumb gameplay also allows you to connect to up 4 players with its one-click matchmaking for online multiplayer.

Just like your conventional Pinball games, Mile High Pinball is all about collecting points, collectibles and power-ups! But something caught my attention before I put the game aside. It has a special feature called “Beat-My-Challenge” where players can create your own pinball map and upload it to N-Gage Arena for others to beat! Not only that, you can also upload your rankings, trade balls and create your own tournaments too. Now that’s what I called a Customised Pinball match.

Always a fan of Snake? Check out Snakes Subsonics if you have been living under a rock. The good ol’ Snake game may be still fun, but I guarantee that this 3D snake will not disappoint! With 40 stunning levels and music-driven gameplay, this exciting game also offers you 20 more levels which you can download from N-Gage platform after you’ve completed the game. You can also compete online in four-player match-ups and tournaments where you push your ranking up the scoreboard with every hi-score.
