Applications have often taken a back seat when it comes to Nokia devices and most of the time they are done by third party developers who may at times develop an application that does not work particularly well causing it to make the device look not as desirable as it should be.

However with the Nokia N97 things are taking a slight twist with more emphasis on APPLICATIONS, in particular applications that help us get connected to friends and let us share our thoughts and feelings.

Nokia has also started to invest more in getting applications to users though Ovi, I can now download lots of useful free stuff to use on the phone, some what like the Apple store. Of course being at an early stage it’s still refining it’s distribution system, but I do believe it will just get better as the latest store is much better than what was offered previously.

Facebook
This is a social networking tool to get on the favorite facebook, the app lets me get my photos up to the site as well as let me update my status and read what my friends are doing daily.

Keeps me updated with the international market news

The Straits Times
Local new and information update, yeah good for reading on the move

TweetS60
Free native tweeter application for S60 phones
