I do need to keep a tight schedule, especially in an environment where we try our very best to value add to our customers. To ensure that all my appointments are in check, I make use of the calender function of the phone to key in those appointments as and when they occur.

Remember the saying, do not keep all your eggs in one basket? It’s the same, do not keep all your calendar data in just one device, it’s always good to continually keep in syncronised with an online calendar. There are two solutions for Nokia phones, one is via Ovi.com where Nokia users can syncronise their phone with the site and the other is via Google Calendar.

Using Ovi.com is rather simple, just head over to www.ovi.com and setup an account. After which you will be sent an SMS with the sycronisation settings. Save it and you’re done, now you’re ready to syncronise your mobile phone calendar and contacts to Nokia’s online service. What’s great about this is that when you get a new phone, it’s possible to get the new phone to have the entire sync that Ovi.com store. So you have your contacts, your schedule, to-do all synced back to the new phone and you’re ready to go once again.

Alternatively, for Google fans you can setup Mail for Exchange on your S60 device to also syncronise with you Gmail, Google Calendar etc. This however is more techie and requires some fundamentals in setting up e-mail accounts.
