Living with the Nokia N97
Hello says the N97, as it powers on for the first (eh wait maybe not first time, think factory, test facilities, QC chambers) in my hands, the familiar Nokia chime rings and fills my room as the screen comes to life. The signature handshake, but wait! An unfamiliar screen presents itself to me and I’m kind of puzzled, never before have I seen such an interface.

Welcome to the world of personalisation, with the Nokia N97, I can see live feeds from Bloomberg or The Straits Times. Connect with my friends on facebook, check out Amazon.com, get calendar information, check my e-mail and many other activities to fill up your home screen. Although I would like to ask for more slots (only 4 available) so I can see more items at a glance.
This is the first for Nokia handsets as the N97 takes up the position of and Internet entertainment mobile device and I would say the execution is done pretty well. The slide is smooth and slick, obviously a lot of though has been given when doing up the design. The screen is bigger then it’s predecessors of touch screen phones but smaller then some of the smart phones available on the market.
The other thing I noted was that more applications (those only on Apple Store and Android Marketplace) is now available on the phone. So I get my bus guide on the Symbian platform, Hurray!
