There was a time when phone calls were expensive and I would continually look for various ways to get the message across to my friends and this has evolved over time. Started with the SMS where I send short messages to my friends, but this too came at a cost, which even today is about 5 cents for 160 characters.

Then there came the Internet and instant messaging, allowing various parties to hold conversations over the Internet, firstly this is “free” as I just need a active Internet connection and I can chat away. Unlike the phone or SMS this provided a cost effective solutions to spend time chatting with friends.

This will keep me connected my friends wherever I may be and I do not need to sit behind a computer before I can keep myself updated with the happenings of my friends.
