The trial has been a pleasant experience with only one instance in which the handset hung after an incoming call ended. Other than that, I was quite pleased with the S60 5th Edition for its fast responses. Personally, as an iPhone user, I find Nokia 5800 Comes with Music is an attractive deal for its specs and of course the Comes with Music package.

The experience was extremely good. The touch pad is sensitive and responds well to the user. I don’t think I will ever move the stylus from its position simply because it’s not needed. Nails will be good enough for me to go thru everything - SMS, surfing, music, etc. It’s light to carry and it’s so slim, I don’t even feel it in my pocket. However, I did experience software hanging while transferring files from my PC.

I’m currently using an iPhone 3G myself and I simply love it. However, I was also very interested in the Nokia 5800 Comes with Music as I had used many Nokia Symbian phones and Windows Mobile phones in the past. I had many good experiences with Nokia phones. Therefore, when I found out I was selected for the trial, I was elated!

When I first took out the phone from the box, I was telling myself what a beauty it is! There are also a load of accessories including the TV-out cable. Although it was a bit plasticky and light, the phone felt solid. The nice matt design of the battery cover helps to maintain the grip of the phone. The interface was beautiful and very finger-friendly. I could navigate through the menus by just using my fingers without the help of the stylus.

I personally do not like the stylus as it was too slim which gave me the impression that it would break upon applying some pressure on it. But alternatives to the stylus are provided inside the package like the stylus plectrum.

I find the new Symbian OS quite speedy compared to the previous Symbian OS that I have used. Although I have about 1,800 songs inside the phone, I did not observe much slowness. The battery life was good and it could last me for about 1.5 days of moderate usage (surfing net, playing games and listening to songs plus some GPS usage). The sound quality was SUPERB on both speakers and my own earphones. Best of all, the ‘Hold’ slider switch was very convenient for me to lock/unlock the phone.
