The E71 software suite amazed and delighted me with a variety of useful applications. With QuickOffice, I was able to open up email attachments for quick reviews before making decisions, all while I was on the move. The included Zip functionality allows for unzipping e-mail attachments without using a computer. The Search feature is pretty useful when looking for applications or files within the mobile phone with just the use of a search phrase. The built-in Encryption feature allows for encryption of data inside the phone memory and/or MicroSD card – safeguarding my confidential data in the event that I lose my phone. All of these give credence to this truly business-oriented phone.

Reason no.6: The responsive processor coupled with its integrated productivity suite and tweaked versions of Contacts and Calendar offer robust corporate functionality.

Reason no.7: HSDPA (3.5G) data supports essential connectivity, particularly the native Nokia VoIP feature which is an integral part of my business telecommunications. Throw AgileMessenger into the mix and it’s my definitive communications platform for staying in touch with the world.

One cool feature found on the E71 is the ability to switch between 2 customisable modes for your device. I used it to set one mode as my ‘office’ mode to come with all my work-related shortcuts/emails/apps/theme and conveniently switch it to my ‘leisure’ mode showing all the other fun stuff when I’m out of the office. Pretty neat, yah~? Security features are great too; with onboard data encryption, remote locking (which can be done easily just by sending an SMS to the device with a preset remote lock message) etc, I do not need to worry if I misplace my device again. Not forgetting it comes with the full suite of connectivity options available as well as a reasonably long battery life (approx. 3 days worth of heavy usage) to aid my work (and leisure!) on the move.
