Setting up e-mail accounts in the Nokia E71 is so easy and painless that connection was up within a few minutes to my Gmail, MSN and Yahoo accounts. Trying the 3G connection was fast and even better, via a built-in wireless LAN connection. The second is a cheaper option if you already have a wireless LAN at home or have access to one at the office or wherever you may be. Browsing was easy and the cursor gravitates towards the links on a page (convenient feature). The “back” feature allows you to see a snapshot of previously browsed pages and visually select where you want to go back to.

I found the interface very user-friendly and efficient; opening attachments and sending out e-mail was a breeze. Calendar appointments and contacts is a cinch when I sync my mobile phone with my PC using Nokia PC suite.

It’s my first time using e-mail on a phone as I do not really like to type them using a normal keypad. I managed to get connected to Gmail and besides being able to read the mails anywhere I am, I was also able to read the comics that I subscribed to on the go.
