Net Talk

Engineered with high-speed Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a web camera for Internet video calls, the Nokia N800 is all geared up to provide you with instant wireless communication and web entertainment. It may be small but through its Opera 8 browser with Flash player, Skype VoIP, Instant Messaging, and Email applications, you’ll have plenty of novel ways to start taking your Internet experience to new places.

The Nokia N800, with its built-in Video call functionalities and the standard Skype feature, allows me to make cheaper or even free VOIP calls!! It is tough contacting your friends especially when they are scattered all over the world. However I believe that I found the perfect solution in the N800.

Internet Calling is much better. With the top mounted microphone, sufficiently loud stereo speakers, webcam, and even the included mic-equipped stereo headset, this N800 scores. The N800 Internet Tablet includes a Google Talk client, including a new Webcam ability. There is even a home screen applet for “Speed Contacts,” but it only shows specific names the user chooses and not “online contacts” as it perhaps should. As a Google Talk client, it’s not bad.

Remaining contact in with family and friends via the Skype and Internet call application in the N800 is a breeze. I use the Internet call application through GoogleTalk to video call my brother’s N800 regularly. The built-in speakers and picture quality are pretty good. The N800’s built-in microphone picks up the voices very well and I rarely need to use the provided headphones with integrated mic.. With the included Skype application, I find myself calling my family and colleagues over Skype more often than via the mobile phone or office lines. The voice quality is very good over Skype as well.
