Once upon a time, in a faraway town, there lived three close friends. As Christmas is just round the corner and it’s the season where it’s all about “Love”, they decided to form a group to spread the “Joy of Love” to everyone. Each of them has a role to play according to their nickname “Discover”, “Capture” and “Share”. “Discover” means to genuinely treat one another while “Capture” means to care for one another. “Share” means to learn to think for one another.

Blue lightings in the shape of snowflakes decorating the streets makes me feel as though it is really snowing. Celebrating the season, we have Starbucks’ snowflakes-printed cups and Christmas soft toys of all sorts in shops. Not forgetting the Christmas trees of different sizes, display and decorations showcasing in shopping malls. Besides that, caroling and story-telling in a Christmas village set up really brings me one step closer to Christmas. There is the Christmas bazaar for children’s gifts and boutiques like Louis Vuitton for adults. The joy and fun is indescribable. I just simply love Christmas!

    • Is that real snow?!
    • Not cornflakes, it’s snowflakes!
    • Mr & Mrs Santa Claus.. Kawaii tortoise version.
    • Oh my, the Christmas tree stole the stars in the sky…
    • Wonder how they managed to get such a HUGE tree into the shopping mall…

Firstly, Xenon flash rocks! My wife and I loved the pictures we took very much. The holiday season is doubly exciting when we received our newly renovated house at Compassvale. After snapping both the interior and exterior of our beautiful house, we headed down to Swenson to have a small celebration follow by a shopping spree at Marina Square. We went back to our house the next day just to take more pictures to share with our friends and relatives. Our friends were surprised that the pictures were actually taken from Nokia N82. It’s so sharp and clear. They thought I was joking. Kudos to Nokia for the Nokia N82.

    • Check out my water feature corner.
    • Nice skyline.
    • My wonderful ice cream..err.. I mean beautiful wife..hehe.
    • Yummy. Ice cream anyone?
    • Beautiful lights at the Esplanade

Every year without fail, I would drop Santa a Christmas card in this special mailbox. But it’s different this year. I’m visiting Santa. Since Pluto under the weather, I travelled by Santa Airlines. The directions to Santa’s Village were not on any maps. I was lost but Santa didn’t let me down. His elves were waiting for me. It took longer than usual but Santa was right in front of his cottage waiting for me. Inside was warm and cozy just as I thought it would look like! There’s even a photo of him!

    • Hope the swordfish will send the letter to Santa.
    • Which check in counter is for Santa Airlines?
    • Which way to the North Pole? It’s not on any of these maps.
    • I don’t see any of Santa’s elves at the check in counters.
    • Sure is busy at the North Pole Airport.
    • Santa’s very own welcoming committee. Christmas in the Air.
    • Hmm.. What kind of flowers would Santa like?

I’m on a mission to find the perfect present for my love, embarking on a journey in search of the one gift that will excite her. Awed by the season’s lightings and caroling choir, I could feel the warmth and love in the air. I paused at every lighted tree along the street and every rack hoping that I will set my eyes on something special. I will put a wish in Santa’s mailbox hoping to see her happy. The clock was ticking and I have less than 5 hours before I meet her for our Christmas meal.

    • If only she could see this…
    • The innocent smile of a child never fails to bring warmth
    • What will Christmas be without a tree?

Rain stands in place of snow, during the festive season of Christmas. I don’t usually celebrate this occasion; perhaps due to over-commercialization. This Christmas, however, I was invited to a friend’s house for a potluck Pre-Christmas dinner. We had tons of booze, red wine, food, cake and even “Tang-Yuan” to mark the Winter solstice. Bantering in little nonsensical yet meaningful chats, it brought the pack of us together, fostering a bond called friendship. I might not have known most of them for a very long time, but it’s warming, it’s the spirit of Christmas!

    • Snowflake, surrounded by the mystical glowing planets…
    • And the vial of life that keeps us alive! (Not)
    • Cheers! For Christmas and friendship!
    • 10 persons bringing food for 10 each results in… Oh no!
    • Don’t always get the chance to squeeze wasabi from a bottle!
    • Red wine, good for the heart! Justified to drink more!
    • Ok ok, I will have more…
    • Now look what the wine have done to me…
    • Not genuine fir, but it’s what under it that’s important! :P

This is my Christmas adventure for 2007. It’s been a hectic 2 weeks of work and partying, so without further ado, let’s look at the different places where I have been to and the different things that I have done over this festive season. Booze and lots of fun included.

    • This year Christmas was a little gloomy, kind of like the war of the worlds. The clouds were covering the buildings.
    • Decided to bring my party indoors and celebrate Christmas with roof over our heads and into ZOUK!
    • Celebrating the festive cheer over a round of Tiger beers!
    • Finding the roof which will house my company year end Christmas dinner, food tasting at the MINT museum of toys
    • Having lunch with a nice friend at The Soup Spoon serving a special, Simon and Garfunkel
    • Pre-Christmas gift exchange in the office, sob sob, my colleagues are leaving town for the holidays :(
    • Finally clear skies, treading down the popular orchard road with friends enjoying the night, could not have got these great pictures without the N82
    • Props for my character for the office Christmas celebrations, I’m Indiana Jones. Seriously
    • Sorry people who wanted to have some space over at the MINT, the place was closed to us only.
    • Cheers to the new year! And hopefully, my bonus J Thanks for all the happy memories captured

Twelve days leading to X’mas is originally a religious affair with fervent preparation and praying. But placed it in a Singapore context, it all become a rojak mix of get-to-gethers, gift exchanges and plenty of food and spirits.

    • Christmas is in the air, can you see it during the night
    • Or maybe you can spot it during the day time, standing tall and mighty?
    • Green is the new black this year. Spice up your stockings selection with something small, endearing and evergreen.
    • If small and spicy is preferred, how about a Catus stocking to chase away evil spirits and bring in good luck?
    • Chill out along Orchard Road as you watch the crowd passes by and sip your favorite café latte.
    • Don’t go hungry in your pursuit for the best X’mas gift for your pal without any food.
    • What’s a party without great wine, games, food and great company?
    • Or perhaps a battle of wits is your cup of tea.
    • Light up a candle for the rest of the evening. Bringing in good tidings of joy & peace for this Christmas…
    • …As you dine away with the finest turkey and wash it down with a glass of fruity wine.

Tis the season to be jolly and me and my best buds will find any excuse to celebrate the holidays. So my best friend and I were out scouting at the Fullerton Hotel to secure a room for a Christmas get-together. We are enthralled by the Victorian colonnades of the Fullerton building – its transformation from its historical function as the General Post Office to being the landmark award-winning Fullerton hotel at present. From the lobby to its back porch and the Courtyard together with the resplendent Christmas décor, one can’t help but be drawn to the splendor and dedicated care that has went into its revitalization.

    • The Fullerton Hotel as seen from the front entrance with its colonial façade.

    • Couldn’t resist picking some cookies from the bowl. :)
    • Yum yum, down the hatch it goes.

Chinese New Year is certainly one of the most celebrated festivals around the world by the Chinese. Without a doubt, the best place to enjoy the atmosphere in Singapore is Chinatown.

One month before the actual day, shops in Chinatown are already selling related merchandise. These include special food such as Yu Sheng, home decoration materials and clothing.

You can expect huge crowds here and it gets more crowded towards the eve of the actual day, with people doing last minute shopping. Firecrackers and fireworks will be displayed during the countdown

Chinese New Year, or Chun Jie, which literally means ’spring festival’, is a synonymous term for the Lunar New Year in Chinese culture. The Chinese zodiac follows a twelve year cycle, each of the years being named after an animal. And this is the year of the Rat!

On Chinese New Year’s eve, many Singaporean families would get together for a reunion dinner with an abundance of delicious food.

During the season, everyone visits the homes of friends and relatives. Hongbaos – which literally means ‘red packets’, are given to children and adults who are not married.

    • This is the Year of the Rat with two Golden Rats welcoming the New Year.

It’s time to usher in the Year of the Rat. Equipped with the Nokia N82 to capture the excitement, whoosh to Chinatown to shop for traditional delicacies and symbolic ornaments to adorn one’s home. In the shopping frenzy, grab the refreshing herbal tea to withstand the humidity. As the cooling night approaches, bedazzle in the lanterns shining above our heads and embrace in the lively night bazaar. With all the shopping preparation, I can’t wait for the New Year to come to offer incense at the temple for a lucky year ahead.

Christmas-time. The season for giving. The time for the usual exchange of gifts, love and laughter. Dazzled by the bright lights and decorations, I wandered down the streets of orchard, searching for something for my beloved sister. Something from HMV perhaps? Delicious pastries? A piano?? And that was when I saw her (not Gisele Bundchen…), the EBEL timepiece.

Christmas day. Gifts were exchanged. As much as I was really proud of my choice of present for my sister, she really surprised me. With the best present I’d ever received! A beauty wrapped in blue – my very own Nokia N82 handset.

Time flies. In the blink of an eye, the western holidays are over and in come the Lunar New Year! To the Chinese, it is a time when ties are renewed through visiting family and old friends. The color red and other figurines are used as decorations to signify prosperity and “bringing in the wealth”. It is with this thought that we set out on a mission to search for the invitation card for wealth to enter our home! Where else but to place it right after you enter the main door?

Lunar New Year is just around the corner, and it’s always another reason to hit the malls to do some shopping for the New Year! My lovely partner (Cherry) and I made a trip down to Singapore’s latest Mall, Vivocity to capture the festive deco, and of course to do some shopping! What the shops put out on their display tells a lot about themselves! We have picked a few and have them captured with the help of Cherry (posing, just to add some flavour) to share with everybody! Have a great 2008 ahead, everyone.

A day activities can only start with a proper safety briefing for the participants. Utilizing the N82’s fantastic zooming capabilities, I catch a bird’s eye view while I abseil down the wall, with clear pictures taken way up high. Sadly, activities ceased as it started pouring heavily, but that did not dampen my photo taking spirit. The kois in the pond are not at all affected, especially with a beautiful environment surrounding their habitat. En route home, the powerful Xenon flash captures a majestic Indian temple in its full glory, with a close up of my favorite toy showing its shiny coat of fur as I’m typing this. All good memories will never be missed armed with a Nokia N82 always within my reach.
