Wireless LAN function allowed me to view web pages and hold Instant Messaging conversations with my friends, thereby making me more contactable than ever before. The 802.11g connection surpassed my impression of phones with Wi-Fi capability as I used to think they were incapable of stable connections.

The in-built Wi-Fi is responsive and can be easily accessed on the desktop. Apart from Wi-Fi, the N95 has HSDPA and GPRS as alternatives for accessing the Internet on the go. Another useful feature I found out was that the N95 can be used as a Wi-Fi scanner. While hanging around Raffles Place, I quickly used the N95 to scan the area for free Wi-Fi before taking out my notebook and connect to Wireless@SG.

I tried its Wi-Fi feature and it was fast enough for me to browse through webpages as well as download files from some of them. I have always been more familiar with PDA-phone for web browsing and the N95 certainly changed my views about using a Symbian phone without a touchscreen for the same purpose [Internet]. It’s indeed as user-friendly as its competitors with the only difference being I had to use my thumb to key in passwords and not a stylus. The N95 alsow allowed me to save images from some webpages directly into either the phone itself or the memory card, and it even lists out the various images available for download in any given webpage. This is great.
