The Nokia N96 is a good phone, packed with lots of features. Unfortunately the plastic feel of the phone let it down. The S60 OS took a little getting used to, but after a day, it was pretty easy to navigate around the menu. The phone’s system runs a little slow and the lag time for when the screen switches between landscape to portrait mode is a little too long but after you get used to it, you don’t really notice it. The tilt sensor is not sensitive as well.

My experience with the Nokia N96 has been great compared to my last Nokia experience with the Nokia 8250. At first sight, nothing about the Nokia N96 really appeals to me except for the big screen. The build is thick but amazingly it’s not heavy, perhaps due to the massive use of plastic. The Nokia N96 was generally user-friendly save for minor navigation and operation issues. With 16GB of internal memory, installation of applications and storing of files is made much easier.

To conclude, the Nokia N96 is one of the most all-rounded models in the market and I was pleasantly shocked at the great improvements Nokia has made since my last bad experience with their phones.

Menu navigation is intuitive, with one minor flaw. We should be able to navigate through the menu icons both horizontally and vertically. I think this is something worth improving on for faster and better access.

Basically, all the features of the Nokia N96 were satisfactory, but not good enough to leave me impressed. In terms of the look and feel of the phone, I think the screen is too small and the keypad lacks sensitivity.
