As they say, sharing is caring, and our trial users do care. Armed with their trusty Nokia devices, our trial users recorded and shared life’s simplest moments with the growing community known as Nokia viNe.     I was given a Nokia N79 for the Nokia viNe user trial.

    The setup was bumpy as the application was having some issues with registering an account. I was eventually sent me a new application file to reinstall the software, and it was smooth flowing from there on.

    After I turned on Nokia viNe, it amazingly recorded what I’m doing throughout the journey. I started listening to music, turned on the GPS, and took some pictures…. All these actions have been recorded! Simply amazing! Nokia viNe has made it very easy and simple to share online.
    Sadly, there were some technical hiccups with uploading what I’ve recorded. I believed that it would be a great application once the issue is resolved!

    Last but not least, it would be great that the instructions were rephrased to make it easier for the user to follow.

    I have trialed the Nokia viNe application and there are a lot of really good functions, like geo-tagging. The application is also user-friendly and not much of a hassle to use. However I have encountered some issues with uploading the vines onto the Nokia viNe site. Sometimes, the uploading progress stays stuck at 0%. I’m not sure if this is due to my network connection or an issue with the site itself. Other than this glitch, I am generally satisfied with the app.

    The Nokia viNe journey was pretty interesting. I was able to share all my experiences in one single entry. Be it the latest food joint that I’ve discovered, to something uniquely found in Singapore, it’s all recorded onto a single ‘viNes’. I was also able to share my musical inclinations with my friends. In return, I was able to see what the latest music trends were. Also, as I scrolled through more viNes from other contributors, I actually found a few interesting food locations which were pretty unknown.

    Using it, however, can prove to be daunting. As with most other online media-sharing applications, data connectivity is thin ice to tread on. Though you can use the free public Wi-Fi access to upload your journey, files are pretty huge and at times, I got disconnected in the middle of an upload. But when I use it with a more stable wireless connection such as my HSDPA data connection or a home Wi-Fi network, uploads were pretty stable, and fast too.
