Dual Record

In case you want to capture a still image while you are simultaneously shooting video, Dual Rec comes to the fore. This technology, made possible by the BIONZ™ Imaging Processor, lets you capture up to 7.6 megapixel still images* directly to your camcorder’s Memory Stick™ while the camcorder is recording video. Perfect for capturing that decisive moment that defines a particular scene.

The number of images that you can capture is only limited by the media capacity for HDR-SR12/11/10, HDR-CX12/TG1, HDR-UX20/10 and HDR-HC9. HDR-FX7 can only capture 3 images at a time. *7.6 Mega Pixels for HDR-SR12/11 and HDR-CX12; 4.6 Mega Pixels for HDR-HC9; 3 Mega Pixels for HDR-SR10 and HDR-UX20/10; 2.3 Mega Pixels for HDR-TG1; 1.2 Mega Pixels for HDR-FX7.

D-Range Optimiser

When faced with difficult lighting conditions, many camcorders are incapable of adjusting adequately. Not so with HD Handycam®. The built-in D-Range Optimiser analyzes lighting conditions and compensates, appropriately adjusting exposure to retain detail in the highlights and bring out detail in the shadows. Images are evenly exposed, even when the environment throws you a curveball.

Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilisation System

One of the most common errors in shooting video is unwanted picture jitter due to shaky hands. This results in a quite unpleasant viewing experience. This technology reduces unwanted camcorder shake by detecting camcorder motion and optically compensating for it by shifting the sensor element in the opposite direction. This results in video that is much smoother and more pleasant to watch.
