Sony’s Latest Range of HD Handycam® Camcorders

Camcorders that record to Hard Disk Drive (HDD) enjoy the advantage of large capacity storage. Your audio, video and image files are only limited by your hard disk space, so, the bigger the better. A 120GB HDD, for example, can typically record up to 14 hours and 50 minutes of high resolution HD video and even up to 48 hours at lower resolutions. You’d have to bring a small bag full of optical or tape media to match that amount of recording time if you’re using DVD or MiniDV.

Reliable and easily available, MiniDV Cassettes record HD video in HDV format, which compresses video using MPEG-2 and audio in stereo MPEG-1. They are capable of recording up to 85 minutes of HD video.
